Vinicius Writes a New Historic Achievement with Brazil in the World Cup
Opta Statistics Network revealed a new historic achievement for the Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, after recording a rare number in the history of Brazil's World Cup participations.
Opta explained that Vinicius Junior became only the third Brazilian player to score and assist goals in two different matches across multiple World Cup editions, an achievement that is rarely repeated in the history of the tournament.
According to the same statistic, only Jairzinho, who did so in the 1970 and 1974 editions, and Rivaldo, who repeated the achievement in the 1998 and 2002 editions, achieved this number before Vinicius.
This number coincided with Brazil's match against Haiti in the second round of the group stage in the 2026 World Cup, where Brazil is leading 3-0.
Vinicius Junior scored the third goal in the 45+3 minute and also assisted the second goal scored by Matheus Cunha in the 36th minute.
