The 'Opta' statistics network highlighted a historical event achieved by the Brazilian team during their match against Haiti in the second round of group stage competitions in the 2026 World Cup, which ended with Brazil leading 3-0.
Opta explained that this is only the second time in the history of the Brazilian team that two players under the age of 20 participate in the same World Cup match.
The first instance occurred in the 1958 edition when legends Pelé and Altafini played against the Welsh team, while this statistic was repeated in the 2026 edition during the match against Haiti, with the participation of the duo Rayan Vitor Rocha and Endrick.
This statistic is considered one of the most notable historical highlights recorded by Opta, given its rarity, with a gap extending over more than six and a half decades between the two instances.
