Brazilian Klaus Appointed as Referee for Saudi Arabia vs Spain Match

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the appointment of Brazilian referee Raphael Claus to officiate the anticipated match between Saudi Arabia and Spain in the 2026 World Cup.

The match between the two teams will take place on Sunday, June 21, as part of the second round of group stage competitions in the tournament held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

FIFA selected a Brazilian officiating team to lead the match, with Klaus serving as the main referee for the game between the Green team and one of the tournament's top teams.

The Brazilian referee is assisted in his task by Danilo Manis as the first assistant and Rodrigo Figueiredo as the second assistant.

The Colombian Andres Rojas has also been appointed as the fourth official, while his compatriot Alexander Guzman is present as a reserve assistant referee.

The Saudi national team is seeking a positive result against Spain, after starting their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Uruguay.

The Green team aims to enhance its chances of qualifying in the upcoming match, while the Spanish team enters the game seeking its first victory in the group.
