Napoli and Juventus Monitor Vicario After Inter Withdraws Interest
Napoli and Juventus have entered the race to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, after Inter Milan decided to pursue Ivan Provedel instead, according to 'Sky Sport Italia'.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio explained that the two Italian clubs are closely monitoring the Italian goalkeeper's situation during the summer transfer window, as they continue their search to strengthen the goalkeeper position.
The report indicated that Inter had previously shown interest in signing Vicario but ultimately settled on Provedel from Lazio, with José Martínez being promoted to be the main goalkeeper for the 2026/2027 season following Yann Sommer's departure.
Despite this change, Vicario's name remains strongly present in the Italian transfer market, with Juventus and Napoli continuing to follow his situation, especially after his previous performances with Empoli and Cagliari.
The report added that Juventus considers Aston Villa's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as their first option, but they may turn to Vicario if they fail to secure him due to financial differences, while Napoli will not make any official moves at the moment.
