Amid Barcelona's Interest, Aston Villa Monitors Alex Remiro

The debate continues over the future of Alex Remiro during the summer transfer window, amid growing interest from several European clubs, most notably the English club Aston Villa, along with his inclusion on the list of names being monitored by Barcelona.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Remiro's contract with Real Sociedad extends until the summer of 2027, but his situation has become a point of interest for several clubs as the transfer market progresses, after his name emerged as one of the goalkeepers in demand in several European leagues.

Aston Villa is considered one of the most interested clubs in the Spanish goalkeeper, as the English club has been monitoring his situation for a long time based on the desire of coach Unai Emery. The importance of the file within the club has increased with the potential departure of Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez during the current summer.

The newspaper explained that Aston Villa, like Barcelona, values the experience, leadership, and continuity that Remiro has shown in La Liga over the past years, despite there being no confirmed negotiations yet between the concerned parties.

Interest in Remiro is not limited to Aston Villa alone, as the same source indicated that other clubs from the English Premier League have emerged among the interested parties, including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, while the goalkeeper's name has also been linked to potential interest from Italian club Napoli.

The report mentioned that Aston Villa is currently the most determined club to monitor the situation of the Real Sociedad goalkeeper, while the Basque club's management has not yet made a final decision regarding his future, with the possibility of extending his contract still being considered.

Remiro, who has represented the Spanish national team on two occasions, has played more than 300 matches for Real Sociedad over seven years and may leave the club for a relatively low sum, estimated to be less than 15 million euros.

The report also pointed out that Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki is being monitored by Aston Villa, while Emiliano Martinez continues to move closer to Juventus, amid talks of reaching an agreement on personal contract terms, which enhances the likelihood of the English club moving to sign a new goalkeeper during the upcoming period.
