The "Greens" star spoke about the upcoming match against Argentina in the team's World Cup opener, explaining: "It will be a good match, and we will approach it as we do any other game, maintaining the same level of focus."

He added: "We still have a whole week to prepare, but we are ready, and we will see what happens when the time for the meeting comes."

Mahrez also expressed his great happiness with the reception that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune gave to the national team delegation before traveling to the United States, emphasizing that this gesture provided the players with an additional morale boost before facing the global challenge.

The captain of the Algerian national team said: "We are happy to meet with the President of the Republic before heading to the United States of America, and we will travel, God willing, to achieve great things and deliver an outstanding performance."
