Hernandez: Focus on the World Cup, No Titles for Now

Spain's national team captain, Rodri Hernandez, spoke during a media day dedicated to the team about "La Roja's" preparations for the upcoming World Cup, as well as his personal situation and future with the national team amidst the ongoing debate about his career.

The player said, "We are happy and excited. All the players will arrive in good health for the World Cup, which is very good news for us."

Regarding Spain being nominated as one of the contenders for the title, he said: "This is an honor, but we are not thinking about titles now; we just want to reach as far as possible in the tournament."

The Spanish midfielder spoke about his physical condition, saying: "I am in excellent shape. This is the first time I have reached a major tournament feeling refreshed, after a season with fewer matches than usual, so I am excited to lead the team."

Regarding the pressure from the fans, Rodri explained: "We feel a lot of support from the fans, and I have never seen training sessions with this many supporters in my life."

Regarding the competition in the World Cup, he added: "There are several strong teams on everyone's minds. It will be a different and challenging tournament, and surprises may occur. No team can be considered an absolute favorite."

He also emphasized the importance of gradual focus, saying: "We must prove ourselves step by step. The championship will be long, and our performance in each match will determine our fate."

Regarding the rumors linking him to Real Madrid, Rodri said: "It's natural for players' names to be mentioned with different clubs, but as the captain of the Spanish national team, I am focused solely on the team. My goal is to lead Spain to win the World Cup, and everything else is not something to think about right now."

He continued on the importance of group preparation: "We need to remind ourselves of the core ideas, as each player comes from a different club, and harmony will be the key to success."

He concluded his remarks about Lamine Yamal: "I see him in good form, he is an important player and will have a bigger role in the tournament."
