Arteta: We Deserve to Be in the Final and We Will Fight to Write a New History for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta, the coach of Arsenal Football Club, confirmed his team's readiness to face the anticipated clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final 2025/2026, emphasizing that his players have the desire and ambition to achieve a historic accomplishment for the London club.

Arsenal will face Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday evening at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, in the final match of the UEFA Champions League, after the English team qualified at the expense of Atletico Madrid, while the French team advanced after overcoming Bayern Munich.

Arteta said during the press conference for the match: "The preparations have gone very well, and the focus was present significantly. We are here because we deserved it with what we have presented throughout the tournament, and now we have to finish the mission by winning the title."

He added: "We have developed a lot this season and learned many important lessons, and I am confident that the team will perform better in the final."

He continued: "I look at the players and see the enthusiasm and great desire to play this match. Everyone realizes the magnitude of the responsibility because this is the biggest match in football, and every player wants to have a decisive impact in it."

The Arsenal coach spoke about Luis Enrique, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, saying: "He has always been an inspiration to me, whether when he was a player or after entering the world of coaching. You can clearly see his imprint in the way Paris Saint-Germain plays and the team's character on the field."

He continued: "It is an opportunity to make history. This is the second time Arsenal has reached the Champions League final, and we have a real chance to write a new chapter for the club, but that requires courage and a great desire to win."

He added: "Our ambition does not stop at just reaching the final; we want to consistently compete for the Champions League and the Premier League, and the team has proven over the past two seasons that it is capable of achieving that."

Arteta also confirmed that the coaching staff studied all the details of Paris Saint-Germain before the match, explaining: "We analyzed all aspects of the French team and studied the possible scenarios of the match, and we know very well what we want to achieve on the field."
