Reason for the Stalemate in Juventus' Negotiations with Vlahovic for Contract Renewal

Friday 29-05-2026
The "Calcio Mercato Web" site reported that negotiations to renew the contract of Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic with Juventus have reached a deadlock due to a disagreement between the two parties over the signing bonus.

Vlahović's contract with Juventus ends on June 30, and with just over a month remaining until the end of his contract, his future remains undecided, despite the Italian club's desire to retain him and renew his contract.

According to the developments reported by the same source, negotiations between the two parties have been ongoing for several weeks, but no final agreement has been reached yet. This is due to Juventus' desire to reduce the wage bill and the need to convince the player to accept a significant pay cut.

The report indicated that Vlahović and his representatives are open to staying with Juventus for a lower salary that could be around 6 million euros annually, in addition to bonuses, while he currently earns approximately 12 million euros net annually, making him the highest-paid player in the Italian league.

However, the main obstacle, according to the source, lies in the signing bonus, as the player and his agent are demanding around 8 million euros, while Juventus is offering only about 3 million euros.

Amid the ongoing stalemate in negotiations, Vlahović's name has been linked with a move to several major European clubs on a free transfer, including Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.
