De la Fuente Hints at Calling Up Gavi for the World Cup

Spain's national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, hinted at calling up Gavi for the squad participating in the 2026 World Cup during his appearance on the program "Mario's Way" with Mario Suárez, confirming that the final list is already ready before the official announcement on May 25.

De la Fuente said that his selections are not only based on technical level but also on the group's philosophy and team harmony, noting that the squad includes 26 players and only 3 goalkeepers will be taken, despite his desire to reward all the goalkeepers who have been with the national team in recent times.

In his remarks about Gavi, the Spanish coach highly praised the mentality of the Barcelona player, emphasizing that his potential call-up is not a gift or a courtesy, but a result of his hard work after recovering from two serious injuries.
