Rice: We Cannot Preempt Events, and I Will Do My Best No Matter My Role

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice appeared in a press statement following the 1-0 victory over Burnley, in the match that brought the two teams together as part of the 37th round of the English Premier League, at the Emirates Stadium.

The English star said in his interview: "Since the new coach took over at Burnley, their style of play has changed drastically. They played a tough match against Manchester City and a tough match against Aston Villa, and neither was easy at all. This is the strongest competition this league has seen. I have never seen such a level before, where opponents have players of a very high standard. Another 1-0 win, and the defense and goalkeeper's performance was amazing as usual, so we have to keep up the pressure and focus."

He added about David Raya: "Honestly, I don't know where we would be without him, as well as the two center-backs. I could talk at length about how they prepare, train, and communicate off the field. It's no coincidence how they perform on the field. All credit to them for this fantastic season."

Regarding his personal performance: "This is what this coach has developed me into, a player capable of playing anywhere in the midfield. I know exactly what is required of me. I had to do a lot of defensive work tonight, a lot of rebounds in front of the defensive line, starting attacks, and passing the ball to players like Odegaard and Eze. I will always do my best no matter what the coach asks of me. Whatever the role, and however I can adapt and make the team better, I will give it my all."

He concluded: "There is a match between City and Bournemouth, and anything can happen. We cannot anticipate events. I have played in the Premier League for a very long time to know that things can change. The only thing we can control is ourselves, which is going out onto the field on Sunday and winning that match. That's all we want. We know what's at stake for this club."
