USM Alger Defeats Zamalek in the First Leg of the Confederation Cup Final

The match between Zamalek and USM Alger, held this evening, Saturday, at the July 5, 1962 Stadium in Algeria, ended with USM Alger winning 1-0 in the first leg of the African Confederation Cup final.

Ahmed Khaldi scored the winning goal for USM Alger from a penalty kick in the 90+8 minute.

Zamalek reached the final after overcoming Algeria's CR Belouizdad with a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the semi-final and a 0-0 draw in the second leg.

Meanwhile, USM Alger advanced after drawing with Morocco's Olympique Safi 1-1 on aggregate, benefiting from an away goal.

The second leg of the Confederation Cup final between Zamalek and USM Alger is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at Cairo International Stadium.
