Bayern Munich Decides on Vlahović Despite Barcelona's Interest

Bayern Munich has decided on the possibility of signing the Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović, a Juventus player, during the upcoming summer transfer window, after the club's management decided to rule out the idea due to high financial costs.

According to reports, Bayern Munich considers the deal "too expensive" at the moment, which led them to close the door on signing the Serbian striker, despite his name being recently linked with a move to the club, alongside potential interest from Barcelona.

The Bavarian giant had previously decided not to activate the option to permanently purchase the Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, to return to Chelsea after the current season ends.

Despite the continued presence of English striker Harry Kane as a primary option in the front line, Bayern's management does not see Vlahović as the suitable target at this stage.

In recent times, the Serbian striker's name has been linked multiple times with a move to Bayern Munich, yet no official move has been made between the two parties so far.

Italian reports have also indicated that Vlahović is anticipating potential offers from Bayern Munich or Barcelona, as he nears a departure from Juventus, especially with his contract entering its final stages.

The player's contract with the Italian club ends at the end of the next season, while both parties are currently in negotiations to try to reach an agreement on renewal.

The newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned that Juventus' management held five separate sessions with the player's father and his agent Milos Vlahović to discuss the Serbian striker's future.

The report added that the player's camp showed flexibility on the salary issue, but no final agreement has been reached yet, as he is expected to earn about 7 million euros annually if the contract is renewed, compared to the 12 million euros he currently receives.

Journalist Christian Falk confirmed that Bayern Munich does not prioritize the player at the moment.

Falk said: "It is not true that Dušan Vlahović is among Bayern Munich's interests, the club sees the deal as too expensive, and his salary would be a complicated issue within the team."

He added: "Vlahović is not on the shortlist of three players the club is currently discussing, as there remains interest in signing Anthony Gordon, although that deal will also be costly, while the main plan is to move towards specific attacking deals before the new season."

Vlahović has played 165 matches for Juventus, scoring 65 goals, while he has only managed to score 4 goals in Serie A this season in 16 appearances, which adds to the uncertainty about his future in the upcoming period.
