Kroos Explains Enrique's Success and Hints at Real Madrid
Friday 08-05-2026
Former German star Toni Kroos spoke in statements to the media about the secret behind coach Luis Enrique's success with Paris Saint-Germain, especially in light of the problems his former club Real Madrid is experiencing.

Kroos commented on Dembele's substitution against Bayern Munich: 'Luis Enrique takes out the best player in the world in the 65th minute, and the player accepts it, it's wonderful, he shakes hands and then starts encouraging his teammates from the bench.'

He added, 'But there are certainly many contrary examples (hinting at what's happening at Real Madrid).'

He explained, 'Why did Enrique take out Dembele? Because he saw that he was exhausted, and because Doi and Kvara were having a better game that day, so he replaced him. That's it ...'

He continued: 'No one complains, and this shows the level of respect the players have for the coach, and how a coach like this succeeds in imposing that, and most importantly, he proves that he makes the right decisions.'

He went on: 'Everyone saw Ousmane Dembele shouting and encouraging his teammates to advance while sitting on the bench, unlike 90% of the players who think they are the stars of their teams: they start showing discontent on the field and then sit on the bench like angry children.'

He concluded: 'Dembele encouraged his teammates, unlike other players who think they are the team's stars. In these details, I see what Luis Enrique has done with this team and how he succeeded in shaping world-class players in this way. Therefore, I am happy for him because it's a collective success.'
