Real Madrid's Stance on the Julian Alvarez Deal

Tuesday 23-06-2026
Press reports have revealed that Real Madrid does not intend to make another attempt to sign Argentine striker Julian Alvarez during the current period, despite recent statements that have sparked speculation about his future with Atletico Madrid.

According to the British network "The Athletic," Real Madrid's management does not plan to make a new offer to sign Álvarez at the moment, despite continuing to monitor the player's situation at Atlético Madrid.

Álvarez recently sparked controversy after hinting at his desire to leave, saying: "I don't want to seem like I'm pretending or hiding something, I'm just trying to be honest. I spoke with Atlético officials, and I believe the best option for all parties is to leave. I want to achieve my dream."

Real Madrid had announced in an official statement earlier that they made an offer worth 150 million euros to sign the Argentine international, but Atletico Madrid refused to let go of their star player.

Barcelona also attempted to sign the player with an offer estimated at around 100 million euros, but Atlético's management rejected the offer as well, despite an agreement between the Catalan club and the player regarding personal terms.

Atletico Madrid continues to hold on to Alvarez, convinced of his importance within the team's sports project, while the player's future remains open to all possibilities in the coming period.
