Bournemouth Temporarily Suspends Jimenez and Opens Investigation

Friday 08-05-2026
Bournemouth Club announced the exclusion of its young Spanish defender Alex Jimenez from the team's squad for Saturday's match against Fulham, following the launch of an internal investigation related to social media posts concerning the player.

The club stated in an official statement that it is 'aware of the circulated posts' and considers the matter 'serious and under investigation,' adding that it has been decided to temporarily exclude the player from the match until the situation is clarified.

This comes after a 15-year-old girl accused him of attempting to contact her via Instagram and requesting her to send him her photos.

Alex Jimenez, aged 21, has participated in 32 matches with Bournemouth this season, starting in the main lineup during the last five matches in the Premier League, making his absence a significant technical impact on the team.

Jimenez joined Bournemouth last February from AC Milan in a deal estimated at around 17 million pounds, having previously played in Real Madrid's academy for many years before moving to Italy in 2024.
