Milan Opens Door for Nkunku's Departure
Thursday 07-05-2026
The management of Milan has begun actively working towards reshaping the attack line in preparation for the next season. Italian reports revealed a meeting between the club officials and the famous agent Pini Zahavi to discuss several matters, most notably the future of the French player Christopher Nkunku.

Although Robert Lewandowski's name was linked with the Rossoneri, the matter was not a priority during the meeting due to the potentially high costs of the deal in terms of salary and commissions.

According to what was reported in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milan management informed Zahavi that they consider Nkunku to be on the list of players available for sale this summer, giving him the green light to look for a new club that suits the player.

The Italian club wants to recover a significant portion of its investment after signing the player for 37 million euros plus bonuses. Therefore, they are asking for about 40 million euros to let him go, while 30 million is considered the minimum to avoid a financial loss.

Nkunku's season with Milan did not go as expected, as the player suffered from physical issues after arriving late to summer preparations following his earlier exclusion from Chelsea's project. The team's offensive decline also affected his performance, in addition to him sometimes being used as a central striker, even though his best roles are as a winger or a second striker behind the main forward.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri also played a role in reducing the Frenchman's opportunities, as he often settled on the duo of Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic as starters in the forward line.

According to reports, Milan plans to use the proceeds from the sale of Nkunku to fund the signing of a new striker who better fits Allegri's ideas for the next season.
