Milan Considers Dismissing Allegri and Names Alonso and Italiano as Candidates for Replacement
Doubts have increased about the future of coach Massimiliano Allegri with Milan, amid the team's declining results and the threat to their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with three rounds remaining in the Italian league season.
The 'Football Italia' website reported that tension has escalated within the club recently, amid disagreements between Allegri and CEO Giorgio Furlani, which may lead to the coach's departure at the end of the season.
According to the same source, Allegri is dissatisfied with some of the deals the club has made, as reports indicate that the coach did not want to include a number of players in his squad.
The report pointed out that Milan's management has already started considering alternative names in anticipation of Allegri's departure or dismissal, with coach Xabi Alonso, who had previous successes with Bayer Leverkusen before being dismissed from coaching Real Madrid last January after only 34 matches, being at the top of the candidates.
The newspaper added that Alonso has entered advanced negotiations with Chelsea, making Vincenzo Italiano the closest option to take on the role, after his name was previously proposed to coach Milan before Allegri's appointment, following his experience with Bologna.
