Tuesday 05-05-2026
In the early hours of the day of the match between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, which will be held at the Emirates Stadium, an incident occurred that caused concern for the Spanish team's delegation, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."

Around 1:30 AM, two rounds of fireworks were set off near the hotel where Atlético Madrid was staying, waking the players while they were in their rooms.

After a few minutes, the fireworks were launched again, leading Atletico Madrid players to believe that it was intentional and not just a coincidence, aimed at disrupting their rest before the match.

Subsequently, Atlético Madrid informed UEFA officials, expressing their dissatisfaction with what happened during the night hours, pointing out that the fireworks were launched without any intervention to prevent it, despite the hotel's location in a good area of the city.
