João Pedro: We Must Improve Performance and Chelsea Needs to Win
Chelsea forward João Pedro made statements following his team's match against Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League, which ended in a 3-1 defeat for Chelsea.
João Pedro said: "From the start, we conceded an early goal, and against Nottingham Forest, it's difficult to change the course of the match. I think we need to be better."
He continued: "We need to find a way to try not to make these mistakes in every match. We need to start winning games. This is the Premier League, and if you concede an early goal, it becomes very difficult to come back."
He added: "Everyone needs to look at themselves, and I do too. We need to find a way to be better. I feel sorry for the fans. Tomorrow we will see what went wrong."
He explained: "It's difficult because I don't think the problem lies with the coach; it's with the players, and it's up to us to elevate the level, including myself. It's hard to say anything."
Regarding the players' awareness of the need to raise their level, he said: "Yes, of course, we support the leaders in the team, we always talk to each other to find a way to win matches. Last week we won against Leeds United, this week it didn't happen, and we need to find a way to win."
He concluded his statements by saying: "The motivation is always there. Today, if we had won, we would have been able to be in the Champions League. Now it will be more difficult, but we must continue to fight in every match and for every point and see what we can achieve."
