Star of Al-Karma Announces End of His Journey with the Team
Midfielder Luay Majid, known as Luay Al-Ani, officially announced the end of his journey with Al-Karma Club after mutually agreeing to terminate the contract, describing the step as "taken with all respect and mutual appreciation."
Al-Ani published his statement hours after confirming his departure, thanking the club's management and its fans, and affirming that the experience was special despite its brevity.
In his statement, the player said: "I announce the end of my journey with Al-Karma Club after mutually agreeing to terminate the contract, a step taken with all respect and mutual appreciation."
He added: "I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Mr. President Mohammad Al-Halbusi for his great support and continuous attention, and I also thank Haj Muthanna and Mr. Adel for their sincere support and cooperation throughout the past period."
He concluded: "It was a special experience that I cherish greatly, and I wish Al-Karma Club continued success and achievement in future endeavors. Many thanks to the loyal fans of the club for their support and love, and you will always remain in my heart with sincere appreciation and love."
Al-Ani joined Al-Karma last summer coming from Al-Talaba in a deal that exceeded one billion Iraqi dinars, with high expectations for his role in the midfield.
However, his journey with the "Hawks of the West" did not meet expectations, as he played 25 matches in the league, during which he only assisted two goals without scoring any.
The team's technical decline in recent rounds, and Al-Karma's loss to Nawroz and its draws with Al-Qasim, Al-Karkh, and Al-Shurta, led the management to seek comprehensive changes, starting with the dismissal of Essam Hamad and the appointment of Moamen Suleiman.
