Khan Shaykhun Opens Fire on Disciplinary Decisions in the Syrian League and Threatens Escalation
Monday 04-05-2026
The management of Khan Sheikhoun Club officially escalated its stance against the decisions of the Disciplinary Committee of the Syrian Football Association, following the recent sanctions imposed on the club.

The crisis arose following the imposition of financial fines and administrative penalties, most notably a fine of 3 million Syrian pounds on the club, due to fan incidents during the match against Ahli Aleppo.

The administration announced the submission of an official objection, asserting that the refereeing reports on which the penalties were based do not reflect the reality of what happened on the field, describing them as unfair.

The club requested the formation of an independent committee to review the recorded footage, in an attempt to prove its stance and reassess the decisions made against it in recent times.

The Khan Shaykhun management linked the timing of the sanctions to the team's sensitive position in the standings, considering that the current pressures could negatively affect its chances of remaining in the league.

She also emphasized that she would resort to the appeals committee, affirming that legal escalation would be the next option to protect the club's rights in this critical phase.

This move comes after an important victory over Al-Tali'a, which gave the team a morale boost that they aim to maintain despite administrative challenges.

The team is engaged in a fierce struggle to escape the relegation zone, with the remaining rounds representing a final opportunity to change course and ensure their continuation in the Premier League.

This crisis reflects the state of tension within the club, which finds itself under dual pressure between disciplinary decisions and the fierce competition to survive.
