Spalletti: We Feel Regret After the Draw, and We Lack Quality in the Attacking Third
The match between Juventus and Hellas Verona ended in a 1-1 draw, as part of the 35th round of the Italian league, in the game held at Allianz Stadium.
Luciano Spalletti, the Juventus coach, spoke after the match, saying: "We need to understand what is happening. There is a feeling of regret and remorse. We were not lucky, and with more focus, we could have controlled the match better."
He added, "We were careless and allowed them to score the goal, then the match became difficult, even mentally we struggled. In the second half, we improved and pressured them inside the penalty area."
He continued: "Bremer and Chiellini are distinguished defenders in terms of individual abilities, but in building play, they leave some spaces, and we have to live with that. In such matches, we need an attacking midfielder who excels in playing in tight spaces."
He continued his statements by saying: "David is a player who moves and builds play, he has quality in tight spaces, but he is not a player who asserts himself inside the penalty area. We lack some quality in the attacking third and need a player who excels in playing there."
Spalletti concluded his remarks by saying: "I try to train the team day by day, and sometimes we lose focus and execution level at crucial moments, even though we controlled most of the match. We need to review ourselves and critique to improve the future, and when we need a stronger character, we struggle, even though we had opportunities to win."
