Flick and Lewandowski: A Partnership Leading Barcelona to Repeat the Achievement
Saturday 02-05-2026
The German coach Hans Flick continues his distinguished journey in local championships, relying on a successful partnership with the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, on his way to achieving a new title in the Spanish league with Barcelona, following his previous successes in Germany and Spain.

According to what was highlighted by the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', Flick managed to secure all his league titles early, whether with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga or with Barcelona in La Liga, having previously won on three occasions before the end of the competition by two rounds, with a total of six surplus rounds across these experiences.

During this journey, Lewandowski played a decisive role, scoring 102 goals that directly contributed to Flick's three championships, with 34 goals in the 2019/2020 season, 41 goals in the 2020/2021 season, and 27 goals in the 2024/2025 season, while he has scored 12 goals so far in the current season.

In the press conference before facing Osasuna, Flick confirmed his adherence to a winning mentality without considering the calculations, saying: 'We want to win every remaining match until the end, I am not good at numbers,' referring to his refusal to engage in early championship calculations or setting its date.

Flick repeated the same successful scenario in his first season with Barcelona, after securing the Spanish league title 2024/2025 two rounds before the end, following the victory over Espanyol, reaching 85 points with a 7-point difference from Real Madrid, which was a decisive gap at the time.

Flick's figures reflect a clear superiority, with the total cumulative difference between his teams and the closest competitors being +41 points, distributed as +13 against Borussia Dortmund, +13 against Leipzig, +4 against Real Madrid, in addition to +11 so far in the current season before round 34.

Flick's teams also showed great seriousness even after securing the titles, achieving strong results in the remaining matches, with only one loss in 6 'dead rubber' matches, reflecting the continuity of competitive performance even after ensuring the championship.

Despite a relative decline in Lewandowski's scoring rate this season, his goals remain impactful, especially his goal against Atletico Madrid, which brought Barcelona closer to winning the league title.

Regarding the future of the Polish striker, Flick explained that the decision has not been made yet, saying: 'We talked, but it remains between us, we focus on the remaining matches, and then we will see what happens,' confirming at the same time the importance of Lewandowski in terms of physical fitness and leadership within the team, alongside the development of Araujo's level and his adaptation to the playing style.

The partnership between Flick and Lewandowski remains the most prominent factor in local successes, at a time when the German coach seeks to lead Barcelona to a new title that cements this duo as one of the key elements of superiority in recent years.
