Kompany: Everything is Possible at Allianz Arena, and This Makes Us Believe in Our Chances
Wednesday 29-04-2026
Vincent Kompany, the coach of Bayern Munich, appeared in a press conference following the 5-4 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, held at the Parc des Princes.

The coach said about being in the stands due to the suspension: "It was different for me to watch the match from that place, but I would have preferred to be on the field, experiencing the atmosphere of the match and trying to help. The coaching staff did a great job preparing the team."

He added, "We struggled, but we were dangerous. Conceding 5 goals away in the Champions League usually means you're out of the tournament, but the chances we created made us believe in our chances."

He added: "When you're trailing 5-2, it's difficult to come back, but the fact that we were this dangerous makes it about regaining focus and seizing opportunities."

He emphasized, "I saw good defense today, but football relies on very small details. You either go in strong in the challenges or retreat completely; the middle ground doesn't work against this level of players."

He concluded regarding the second leg match: "We will play at home in front of 75,000 fans, I want more than that. We want strong support to be present, and Allianz Arena is the place where anything can happen."
