Journalist Arancha Rodriguez revealed that Real Madrid defender Éder Militão will undergo knee surgery this week in Finland, with a specialist in this type of injury.

The source clarified that the Brazilian player was injured during his team's match against Deportivo Alaves, as part of the 33rd round of the Spanish League, which took place last Tuesday.

According to the same sources, the club's medical team decided on surgical intervention after the examinations the player underwent, as the Brazilian player suffered a setback in his biceps femoris injury, where the previous "scar" reopened.

Militao is expected to be out for 5 months following the surgery he will undergo, and therefore, he will not be present at the 2026 World Cup. He will aim to return at the start of the new season.
