Media reports have revealed that Manchester City is leading the race to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson, the Nottingham Forest star, following his impressive performances this season.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City's management is preparing to make a substantial financial offer to secure the deal, as part of their efforts to outpace rival clubs before the start of the 2026 World Cup.

The report indicated that Manchester City was able to advance in the negotiations thanks to its early moves, as its communications with the player began last March, giving it an advantage in the race for the contract.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest may demand a record amount exceeding 100 million pounds to agree to sell the player, especially if he continues to excel or delivers impressive performances during the World Cup competitions.

Anderson is 23 years old and has participated in 43 matches with Nottingham Forest across various competitions this season, during which he scored two goals and provided three assists, making him a subject of interest for several major clubs both within and outside of England.
