Turku: From Yildiz Partner to Fourth Division
Thursday 23-04-2026
The Italian player Nicolo Turco spoke about the significant decline in his career, after having formed a promising attacking duo with Kenan Yildiz in Juventus' youth team in 2022.

He later succeeded in winning the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with the Italian national team, making him one of the most prominent rising talents in Italian football.

However, his career took an unexpected turn after his move to Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2023, a step he described as unsuccessful, as he faced significant difficulties adapting in Austria.

Afterwards, he moved to the Milan Futuro team, but his season ended with relegation to the fourth division, marking another setback in his career.

In a step to rebuild himself, Turco decided to return to his hometown and join the Derthona club in the fourth division league, emphasizing that his choice was due to the trust he found there and his need to feel appreciated after a difficult period. He also mentioned that he was close to moving to several clubs, but circumstances such as administrative sanctions ruined those deals.

The player concluded his statements by affirming his determination to return to a professional level, emphasizing that he has "already reached the lowest point," but he will not give up until he achieves his goals, whether in Italy or elsewhere, in an attempt to revive a career that seemed promising a few years ago.
