Date of Al-Zawraa's Next Match in the League
Tuesday 21-04-2026
All eyes turn on Wednesday evening to Al-Zawraa Stadium in the capital, Baghdad, where the 'Nawras' will host their guest, Diyala Club, at 7:30 PM, as part of the 30th round of the Iraqi Stars League, in a match where the home team seeks to confirm their resurgence and continue collecting points.

Al-Zawraa enters the match in its best technical and moral condition. The team is in fifth place with 54 points, experiencing clear technical stability under coach Luay Salah, who led the team to 5 victories out of the last 11 matches, the latest being a 2-1 win over Al-Shorta and a clean 3-0 victory over Al-Karkh.

The 'Nawras' have changed their style of play in recent rounds, and the team has become more organized and disciplined mentally and technically, according to their coach's statements. The return of midfielder Mohamed Qasim from injury provides a strong addition to the team in tomorrow's match, after missing the last three encounters.

Additionally, recent administrative decisions appointing Laith Hussein as an advisor and Gaith Abdulghani as an executive director, along with forming a new technical committee, have given the impression that the club is moving towards institutional stability.

On the other hand, Diyala enters the match delivering one of its best seasons. The team is in tenth place with 41 points and is considered one of the teams that has presented good and distinguished levels this season, especially against the big teams.

Diyala knows how to play away from home and has young and fighting elements capable of troubling any opponent. The team seeks at the very least to come away with a positive result from Al-Zawraa Stadium, whether by drawing or snatching a win, to confirm its position in the Iraqi Stars League this season.

It is worth noting that the first-leg match between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw at Diyala Stadium, in a match where Al-Zawraa was the better side but squandered the win. That result gives tomorrow's match a revengeful nature for the 'Nawras', who want to restore their reputation in front of their fans.
