World Cup Dream Drives Mohamed Sobhi to Seek a New Opportunity with Zamalek
Thursday 16-04-2026
The media personality Khaled Al-Ghandour confirmed that Mohamed Sobhi, the goalkeeper of Zamalek, requested to participate with the team in an attempt to regain his place in the Egypt national team squad that will compete in the 2026 World Cup.

He added on the "Stad Al-Mehwar" program that Mohamed Sobhi is determined to return to the main lineup of Zamalek, believing that his spot on the Pharaohs' roster for the next World Cup depends on consistent participation. He fears that his absence from the field could cause his international dreams to vanish.

He concluded: "The goalkeeper submitted his request amicably to the coaching staff, who in turn emphasized the importance of focus and exerting extra effort, affirming that returning to the starting lineup will not be easy given the current competition within the team."

The Egyptian national team is in Group G of the 2026 World Cup, which also includes the teams of Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran.
