The strong injury sustained by striker Mateo Retegui has caused concern within the ranks of Al-Qadisiyah, following his exit due to the injury during the recent match against Al-Shabab in the Roshan League.

The sports injury specialist, Thamer Al-Shahrani, revealed details of the case, explaining that the initial diagnosis ranges from a minor injury to a more serious one that could sideline the player for an extended period.

He indicated that the best-case scenario is a first-degree sprain, which may require about 14 days to recover, with the possibility of returning sooner if his condition improves.

He pointed out that the worst-case scenario involves a second-degree tear or higher, which could result in the player being absent until the end of the current season.

The injury occurred during the match between Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Shabab, where the player was involved in a strong collision that affected his ability to continue in the game.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, in a game held at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium as part of the Roshan League competition.

The medical team is awaiting the final test results to accurately determine the player's absence duration, while the team strives to maintain its technical stability in the upcoming phase.
