Bournemouth Nearing Agreement to Appoint Marco Rose as Successor to Iraola
Wednesday 15-04-2026
Bournemouth Club has entered advanced negotiations with German coach Marco Rose to take over as head coach, succeeding Spaniard Andoni Iraola, who has decided to leave at the end of the current season.

Reports indicate that the agreement could be finalized within a few days, as the club is eager to conclude the matter swiftly.

Bournemouth had several names on their list, including Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna. However, signing him seems complicated due to his contract, which includes a release clause, in addition to his efforts to lead his team to promotion to the Premier League.

On the other hand, Rose has a more flexible situation, as he has not been affiliated with any club since leaving Leipzig in March 2025, making him the closest option.

The German coach is known for his attacking style and high pressing, which aligns with the playing philosophy Bournemouth seeks to implement.

Rose has previously had notable experiences with clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach, and he also coached at Red Bull Salzburg, where he oversaw the development of several prominent stars, enhancing his chances of success if he takes on the new role.
