The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed new developments in the crisis of the Africa Cup of Nations final, which took place between the national teams of Morocco and Senegal in the capital, Rabat, amid widespread refereeing controversy.

The newspaper confirmed that the recent data strengthens the position of the Moroccan national team, following the events that accompanied the awarding of a decisive penalty kick in the final minutes of the match.

The report by the general coordinator of the African Football Confederation clarified that the players of the Senegal national team left the field heading to the locker rooms in protest, except for Sadio Mane, who tried to persuade his teammates to return and complete the match.

The African Union's judging panel acknowledged that mistakes were made during the management of the match, most notably the failure to issue warnings to Senegalese players following their withdrawal, a decision that sparked much controversy.

Reports indicated that this decision was made to avoid ending the confrontation administratively, given the sensitivity and complexities of the situation on the field.

Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football, refused to provide decisive details about the incident, stating that the final decision would be the responsibility of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The Moroccan national team upheld the legitimacy of the decisions made during the match, while the Senegalese federation continues its legal actions to defend its position.

The final crisis has turned into a complex legal case, amidst conflicting accounts and multiple official reports regarding what happened in the decisive moments.

The newspaper considered this case to have become one of the most controversial crises in the history of African football, due to its ongoing repercussions and the complexity of its legal proceedings.
