Slot: We Want to Prove Our Ability to Evolve, and Anfield is Our Secret Strength
Arne Slot, the manager of Liverpool, spoke about the difficulty of the upcoming match against Fulham, as part of the English Premier League competition.
Liverpool will host Fulham at 6:30 PM tomorrow, Saturday, at Anfield Stadium, as part of the thirty-second round of the competition.
Slot said: "Fulham has a coach who has been working with the team for a long time, and the organizational structure can be clearly noticed, as well as the identity he seeks to implement on the field."
He added: "Perhaps the only positive aspect of the last Paris Saint-Germain match, which we lost 2-0, is that we faced the champions of Europe, and we were not at our best, but within 4 or 5 days we will show that we are more competitive."
He continued: "That match shows us that if we want to continue evolving, we need to play at this level in the Champions League. We want to be in that competition next season to prove our ability to perform better, and to achieve that, we must improve our level in the league."
Regarding the injured players, he said: "Alisson Becker is doing his utmost to return, but he will not be available this weekend."
He added: "It is extremely important for Alexander Isak to be available to us again. We struggled to convert chances into goals, and he is a natural scorer, and his return is a significant addition. True, it was only a few minutes, but it's a good step."
He continued: "We hope he regains his level quickly, as in the previous injury he needed some time which is natural, but we hope after a good rehabilitation period he returns faster to the required level."
He added: "This period is considered the best in terms of the number of available players compared to the rest of the season, but we still have 3 injured defenders, namely Bradley, Leone, and Endo, in addition to players whose readiness for tomorrow's match is in doubt, namely Gomez and Frimpong."
Slot concluded his remarks by saying: "Anfield Stadium has historically proven how important the fans are to us, an example of which is the Galatasaray match, where we faced a noisy atmosphere away from home, then our stadium showed what true support means, and that's what makes Anfield special."
