Algeria Draws 0-0 with Uruguay in a Lackluster Friendly Match
Wednesday 01-04-2026
The Algerian national team settled for a goalless draw against the Uruguayan team in a friendly match that did not meet expectations, with a clear absence of real opportunities from both sides.

The match was of average level, with tactical caution dominating the course of play due to the difficulty of breaking through the defensive lines, resulting in a scarcity of opportunities throughout the game.

The head coach Vladimir Petković tried to invigorate the performance during the second half by making several changes, most notably bringing on Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed El Amine Amoura in the 64th minute, replacing Houssem Aouar and Ramiz Zerrouki, along with introducing Ben Bouali instead of Amine Gouiri.

In the final minutes, the coaching staff continued to make substitutions, with Titrawi replacing Ibrahim Maza, and Obada replacing Belghali, before Zerrouki returned to participate instead of Faris Chaibi in the 80th minute. However, these changes did not result in altering the score.
