Cruciate Ligament Ends Young Al-Nassr Goalkeeper's Season
Saturday 28-03-2026
Al-Nassr Saudi Club received a severe blow after their goalkeeper Mubarak Al-Buainain suffered a torn cruciate ligament, which means he will be absent until the end of the current season.

Al-Buainain sustained an injury during his participation in the friendly match against Al-Anwar, which ended in an exciting 6-6 draw. The match featured numerous events, most notably the injury of the young goalkeeper.

Coach Jorge Jesus relied on Al-Buainain in this match due to the absence of the main goalkeeper, Pinto, who was busy with the Brazilian national team, in addition to Nawaf Al-Aqidi being with the Saudi national team.

Medical examinations, through MRI scans, revealed that the player has a complete tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee, necessitating surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation program.

This injury represents an additional blow to Al-Nassr's goalkeepers, as it is the second case this season following the injury of goalkeeper Raghed Al-Najjar, who recently underwent a similar surgery.

It is noted that Al-Buainain, who is 20 years old, joined Al-Nassr in January 2023, coming from Al-Jubail Club, and participated in one official match against Al-Hilal.

These developments pose new challenges for the coaching staff, who will be looking for quick solutions to compensate for the absences in the goalkeeper position in the upcoming phase.
