FIFA Raises Morocco's Points and Considers Senegal Withdrawn
Tuesday 24-03-2026
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced a new adjustment in the ranking of national teams following the decision issued by the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to the latest update on FIFA's official website, Morocco's national team points increased to 1754.59, up from 1736.57 points in the January ranking, while maintaining its position as the eighth in the world.

FIFA adopted the result of the final match according to the CAF decision, considering the Moroccan team as the winner by default after the status of the match was officially adjusted.

In contrast, the Senegalese Football Federation moved to escalate the matter legally by announcing its intention to resort to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to appeal the decision to strip them of the title and consider them as having withdrawn from the tournament final.
