Monday 23-03-2026
The management of Al-Gharaf Club announced the formation of the new technical staff that will lead the team for the remainder of the current season's competitions, following the previous coach Haider Obaid's apology for not continuing the journey for reasons not detailed, amid speculations that declining results and performance were among the factors that led to this step.

The club confirmed in an official statement issued by its media department that it has contracted with coach Qahtan Jathir to take over the mission in place of Obaid, with his official duties starting after the team's next match against Nawroz. The statement explained that this step comes as part of the effort to return the team to the path of positive results and achieve the aspirations of the management and fans.

The new technical staff consists of Qahtan Jathir as the head coach, assisted by Moaid Joudi as the first assistant, and Samer Saeed as the second assistant, while Hussein Jabbar takes over the goalkeepers' training, and Ahmed Al-Qaddour handles the physical preparation tasks, alongside Iyad Munshid as a technical analyst. Al-Gharaf's management emphasized its full support for the new staff, providing them with all necessary tools to achieve the set goals in the upcoming phase.

Al-Gharaf is betting that the technical change will give a moral and organizational boost to the team, with a reorganization of tactical ideas and an increase in discipline on the field, alongside addressing the gaps that appeared in past rounds. It is also expected that the new technical staff will focus on leveraging the available players' capabilities and creating a better balance between the lines, ensuring points are collected and the team's position in the standings is improved.

This decision comes at a critical time in the season, where teams need technical stability and a clear identity on the pitch. With Qahtan Jathir officially taking responsibility after the Nawroz match, attention will be directed to his first impressions with Al-Gharaf, and his ability to return the team to the path of positive results and achieve the ambitions awaited by the club's fans.
