Theo Hernandez opened the scoring for Al-Hilal in the 39th minute after a remarkable pass from Karim Benzema, which he finished with a powerful shot into the net.

In the second half, Al-Ahly returned to the match after a penalty was awarded, from which Ivan Toney scored the equalizing goal in the 81st minute.

The score remained unchanged during extra time, leading the teams to a penalty shootout, which tipped the balance in favor of Al-Hilal.
