The Truth Behind the Students' Withdrawal from the Police Match
Monday 16-03-2026
The management of the Students Sports Club issued a clarifying statement expressing its strong dissatisfaction with the procedures related to the percentage of audience attendance for the upcoming match against the Police Club, as part of the Iraq Stars League competitions, affirming that the recent decision does not align with the principles of sports justice and constitutes an injustice against the club's fans.

The Students' management explained in its statement that the percentage set for the team's fans to attend the upcoming match was only 8% of the stadium's capacity, which the club's management considered an unfair decision against the elegant fans who are accustomed to supporting the team in various matches and tournaments.

The statement pointed out that the Students' management had acted in a sportsmanlike spirit in the first phase match between the two teams, allowing at that time the Police Club fans to attend 50% of the stadium stands, in a step aimed at enhancing the atmosphere of fair competition and showing mutual respect between the two clubs.

The club's management confirmed that the current decision represents a clear contradiction to what it had done previously, considering that reducing the Students' fans attendance to this extent is an injustice against the team's fans who are an essential part of the club's journey and an important supporter for the players on the field.

The management stated in its statement that such decisions do not serve the image of Iraqi football, but may negatively affect the atmosphere of competition and the spirit of justice that is supposed to prevail among all clubs participating in the championship.

The Students Club management announced, in protest of this decision, its abstention from attending the upcoming match against the Police Club, confirming that the club's fans will boycott the meeting in solidarity with the management's stance rejecting these procedures.

The Students' management emphasized in the conclusion of its statement that its position comes in defense of the rights of the club's fans and in the interest of preserving the true values of sport, which are based on the principle of equality and mutual respect among all clubs and sports institutions.
