Ashley Cole Begins His Coaching Career in Italy
Saturday 14-03-2026
Cesena, a club competing in the Italian Serie B, has decided to appoint former English star Ashley Cole as the new coach of the team, replacing the dismissed coach Michele Migani. This surprising move was announced by the club following the team's 2-2 draw with Frosinone in the last match.

The decision to dismiss Mignani came despite the team remaining in contention for the playoff spots for promotion. However, a series of negative results in recent times — with the team earning only three points in seven matches — prompted the management to make a change in the coaching staff.

The appointment of Ashley Cole is a notable move, as this will be his first experience as a head coach in his coaching career, having previously worked within the coaching staff at various places such as Chelsea, Everton, and with the England Under-21 team.

Cole had a brilliant career as a player, shining with Arsenal and Chelsea, and had a brief stint in the Italian league with Roma between 2014 and 2016, before retiring from football in 2019 and moving into coaching.
