The coaching staff of the Saudi Al-Nassr team, led by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, revealed the real reason behind the absence of Senegalese star Sadio Mane from the match against Al-Khaleej in the Saudi Roshn League.

The decision to exclude Mane from the match list came after he underwent medical examinations and precise scans that revealed a second-degree tear in his calf muscle.

According to what was circulated on the X platform, the player was hoping to participate in the match despite feeling injured, but the medical team refused to take a risk with his condition.

The doctors emphasized the necessity for the player to undergo a treatment and rest period of about a week to fully recover before returning to training and matches.

The match between Al-Nassr and Al-Khaleej will be held at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam as part of the 26th round of the league.

Jesus relied on Pinto Matheus as the goalkeeper in the starting lineup, with Inigo Martinez, Mohamed Simakan, Abdelilah Al-Amri, and Nawaf Boushal in defense.
