Strict Penalties in Algerian Football After Cup Incidents

The Disciplinary Committee of the Algerian Football Federation issued a series of sanctions following the incidents that occurred during recent local competition matches, most notably the Algerian Cup quarter-final clash between CR Belouizdad and MC Alger.

The committee decided to issue a warning to Chabab Belouizdad Club and impose a fine of 600,000 dinars due to the lighting of fireworks and throwing of projectiles on the field before and during the match.

The committee also imposed a penalty of playing two matches without spectators on the team, following the throwing of fireworks onto the field and causing physical harm to the opposing team's players.

Regarding the players, it was decided to suspend CR Belouizdad player Abdelraouf Benguit for two matches, with one match suspended, in addition to a financial fine.

The committee also penalized the JS Kabylie club by requiring them to play one match without spectators, in addition to a fine of one million dinars.

In a related context, the committee decided to temporarily suspend the Olympique de Chlef player, Jamal Belalem, until his testimony is heard, along with his teammate Yasser Belaribi.

The committee also summoned ES Sétif coach Lotfi Amrouche to appear before it at the upcoming disciplinary session.

In its final decisions, the committee penalized the Taraji Mostaganem club by requiring them to play two matches without spectators, with one of these penalties being suspended.
