The Portuguese coach José Mourinho erupted in the press conference following his expulsion during the Portuguese classic match between Benfica and Porto, after an altercation with the Argentine Lucho González, a former Porto player and currently a member of its coaching staff. Mourinho expressed his anger at being labeled a "traitor" for coaching Benfica after his historic stint with Porto.

Mourinho angrily said, "That man considers me a traitor fifty times because I coached Benfica after Porto. I want an explanation, am I a traitor? How? I was at Porto and gave the team everything."

The Portuguese coach added that he gave his all at every coaching stop he went through, explaining: "I went to Chelsea and gave everything, to Real Madrid and gave everything, as well as at Inter Milan and Fenerbahçe. I traveled the world and dedicated my life and time completely every day, and this is what is called professionalism."

Mourinho also addressed the chants from Porto fans against him, saying: "I have no problem with the fans' insults; these are the same fans who, years ago, I couldn't even enter their city because they were bowing at my feet."

The Portuguese coach concluded his remarks by affirming his rejection of being labeled a traitor: "But for a colleague to call me a traitor? Why? Because I give everything to Benfica? Maybe tomorrow I'll leave Benfica and go to Estrela Amadora, União de Leiria, or Moreirense, and I will always give the same. How am I a traitor? I didn't like that."
