Donald Trump praised stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and spoke highly of Egypt's Al Ahly during a meeting with Inter Miami players at the White House.

This meeting was held in celebration of Inter Miami's victory in the 2025 Major League Soccer Cup, where Trump welcomed the team and made sure to express words of appreciation to several international soccer stars.

During his conversation with Messi, Trump expressed his great admiration for the Argentine player's abilities, suggesting that he might be better than the Brazilian legend Pelé, before asking the audience who the better player is.

The American president added that his son is one of Messi's biggest fans, while also affirming that he appreciates the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, considering the duo to represent the pinnacle of global football.

Trump's remarks did not stop there, as he also expressed his admiration for the Egyptian club Al Ahly, affirming that it is one of the most prominent teams in the world due to its talented players and great capabilities.

He also mentioned Inter Miami's participation in the Club World Cup last summer, explaining that the team faced strong competition in their group and drew with Al Ahly, which he described as the best team in Egypt and includes outstanding players, among them goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
