Real Madrid's Medical Services Under Scrutiny After Repeated Injuries
Wednesday 04-03-2026
Real Madrid's medical services have become a subject of increasing doubt within the club due to the repeated injuries of players, especially ACL injuries, with the club recording six cases since 2023, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo'.

In an attempt to restore confidence, the club's management decided to reinstate Nico Mihic as head of medical services this January after he left the position in 2023, but the injuries have not decreased; rather, they have increased, raising doubts about the effectiveness of the medical team and the physical preparation programs under the supervision of Pintus, who returned after a period of absence with Xabi Alonso.

The most notable examples came from prominent players like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, who turned to specialists outside the club. Mbappe traveled to France to follow up on his knee injury under the supervision of Real Madrid's medical services, reflecting his and his team's lack of confidence in the local doctors.

Meanwhile, Bellingham went to London for treatment after his injury in February, which was expected to sideline him for a month, but reports now indicate his return at the end of March or early April.

This situation presents a significant challenge for Real Madrid's management to restore confidence in their medical team and ensure high-efficiency injury follow-ups in the coming period.
