The Truth About the Postponement of the Finalissima
Sunday 01-03-2026
The Argentine journalist Gastón Edul confirmed that the Finalissima match between the Argentine and Spanish national teams has not been officially postponed yet, denying the accuracy of the circulating news about a final decision being made.

Idol explained that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), in coordination with the government of Qatar, will hold a joint meeting in the coming days to discuss all the details related to hosting the match before issuing the final decision.

An official statement is expected to be released once a final agreement is reached, determining the fate of the anticipated showdown between the champions of Europe and South America.

The final was scheduled to take place on March 27 in Qatar, but there is a strong inclination to postpone it due to the current events in the Middle East.

This match comes after Spain's victory in the 2024 UEFA European Championship and Argentina's win in the 2024 Copa América, setting the stage for a renewed continental showdown between the two teams in a single match to decide the winner of the Finalissima.
