Brendan Rodgers, the head coach of the Al-Qadisiyah team, explained the reason behind the absence of Portuguese player Otávio from the match against Al-Taawoun in the Roshn League.

Rodgers confirmed during the press conference after the match held on Saturday evening that the player was ready both physically and technically, but was not included in the squad due to restrictions on the number of foreign players.

The Al-Qadsia coach pointed out that the regulations regarding the number of foreign professionals allowed in each match forced them to make a difficult decision, explaining that they sought to choose the most suitable players according to the requirements of the game.

Rodgers emphasized that the coaching staff is always working to find the best combination to serve the team's interests amid the strong competition this season.

The match between Al-Qadsiah and Al-Taawoun ended in a 1-1 draw, as part of the 24th round of the Saudi Roshn League.

Al-Qadisiyah raised its tally to 54 points, securing fourth place in the standings, trailing four points behind Al-Hilal in third and five points behind Al-Ahli in second place.
