Appointment of Referees for Al Ahly and Esperance Matches in the Champions League
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the names of the refereeing team for the matches between Al Ahly and Esperance in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
The first leg of the quarter-final match between Al Ahly and Esperance will be held in Tunisia on March 15 at 11 PM Cairo time.
The return match between Al-Ahly and Esperance will be played at Cairo Stadium on March 21.
The Tunisian site "Nessma Sport" reported that the African Confederation has decided to appoint Senegalese referee Issa Sy for the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final at the Rades Stadium between Esperance and Al Ahly. Mauritanian Ahmed Imtiaz will be in charge of VAR, assisted by Angolan Gilson dos Santos.
Regarding the return match in Cairo, Moroccan Jalal Jaid has been assigned to manage it, with assistance from his compatriot Hamza Al-Fariq and Rwandan Salima Mukansanga in VAR technology.
