Al-Qadisiyah Approaches Sports Arbitration in Dispute with Al-Ahli
Thursday 26-02-2026
Al-Qadisiyah Club is escalating its legal actions by submitting an official appeal to the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center, objecting to the decisions of the Disciplinary and Appeal Committees regarding its match against Al-Ahli.

The details of the case go back to the match between the two teams last November as part of the Saudi Professional League, which ended with Al-Ahli winning 2-1.

The Qadisiyah management based their protest on the fact that Al-Ahli submitted two team lists for the match; the first 75 minutes before the start of the game, and the second after the deadline, which included the addition of seven players.

The added names included four key players: Zakaria Hawsawi, Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, Enzo Miu, and Firas Al-Buraikan, along with three substitutes: Mohammed Suleiman, Valentin Atangana, and Ivan Toney.

According to reports, Al-Ahli started the match with Mohamed Suleiman, Atangana, and Ivan Toney in the starting lineup, while Hawsawi, Abu Al-Shamat, and Al-Buraikan were on the bench, and Enzo Mio was left out of the final squad.

The club indicated that this action, if proven, constitutes a clear violation of Article 21 of the competition regulations of the league association, calling for an official investigation to ensure the procedures' integrity.

The Disciplinary Committee had rejected the protest, and the Appeals Committee upheld the same decision, prompting Al-Qadisiyah to resort to the highest sports judicial authority in the kingdom in hopes of overturning the two decisions and proving the validity of its position.
